waxu developed the next generation in intimate waxing with a salon grade intimate waxing collection that revolutionises hair removal. The signature treatment was made by women for women and was developed in Nottingham, England. The innovative waxing technique has been developed by the UK's leading expert in intimate waxing and her team of driven therapists, who know what it means to achieve a superior wax. You might even have seen them on Dragon's Den!
They approached us looking for a brand and identity that positioned them as the only waxing brand and product that focuses on intimate waxing. We later took charge of their social media management and monthly email marketing campaigns too.
Dare to go bare
We started working with waxu while the product was still in development which meant we could have a meaningful input into the complete offering, from naming the business, to the colour of the wax, to the launch strategy.
During our research phase we discovered that other waxing brands on the market were devoid of personality and simply not aspirational. We took a bold leap to stand out with a vibrant colour palette, high impact imagery and bold messaging, that would excite and engage. We didn't want waxu to be a wall flower - we wanted to take the industry by storm and create a stir.
We developed a wordmark from scratch using geometric shapes which provide stability and reassurance, rounded terminals give a soft and feminine feel and the simplicity gives the impression of being clean and modern.
As waxu is a very personal and intimate treatment, we wanted to develop an identity which was not only professional but also approachable and reassuring. The umlaut on the ü is not only how the word should be pronounced (wax-you) but also a smiley face which gives the marque a friendly and playful twist and is representative of the end result; a bold, confident, happy, modern woman.
We activated the brand across all channels including packaging, advertising, exhibition stands, point of sale materials and the website.

Social Media Management
waxu's social focus is marketing to beauty therapists and salons, and creating sharable content that they can use for their own social media (whilst maintaining the waxu brand.)
From fun and flirty text posts, showcasing the product with mini-videos to weekly photographs of the growing team of waxu therapists across the UK, we manage Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to maintain brand advocacy and grow leads for new waxu therapists.
We also work with waxu on monthly emails for "Salon of the Month" to showcase different salons and beauty therapists throughout the UK and the incredible service they're offering their clients, as well as marketing any promotional offers and announcements that also feed through to social media.
We take an integrated approach to social and email marketing to ensure all of waxu's messaging is joined up for an engaging experience with the waxu audience.
