Abstrakt’s 2022 Roundup

It’s been a strange couple of years, and we feel very fortunate to have continued working, meeting new clients and having the opportunity to pitch for interesting new projects. We might not always win them, but we love it all the same.

This year we’ll be closing the studio so the team can have a well-earned break, recharge their creative batteries and arrive back in January full steam ahead.

Abstrakt will be closed from 24th December - 2nd January, with our return to work on 3rd January.

• Lots of exciting projects came through the studio across our services and disciplines. We’ve been very fortunate to have supportive clients, many of whom have kindly introduced us to other departments, businesses and projects. Thank you!
• We welcomed a new starter, Charlie, as an Account Manager who has become a central member of our team.
• We announced the first Abstrakt baby as Nikki and Chris brought little Leita into the world.
• We extended our lease on our Abstrakt Studio in the Lace Market for a further three years. What can we say? We’re all suckers for the close-by restaurants, independent coffee shops and our quirky old lace mill.
• Taking over the helm from Made by Kind, we’ve reinvigorated Craft CMS Notts, having already hosted two successful Meetups and another set to take place in February 2023.
• Our development team flew to New York for Dot All Conference to learn about new features, updates and technologies around our chosen CMS and Commerce, Craft.
• Despite SEO being one of our secondary services, we were very proud to be nominated for two UK Search Awards for our SEO work with Ella’s Kitchen.
• Our Christmas do was a big one this year, with a well-deserved long weekend in the Peak District with pub lunches, walking, games, Secret Santa, an exceptional Chef and our very own award ceremony.

• We’ll be saying another big welcome to a new starter in January who will join us as a Lead Digital Designer to take on our IA and UX website design, so watch this space.
• There are already plenty of projects in the works beginning their planning phases to start the new year with a bang.
• We’re on the hunt for another developer to join our team to support the building of Craft websites.
• We’ll be heading out to Dot All in Barcelona for all things Craft CMS and Commerce.
• And lastly — so far — we’ll be standing by our mantra of a new website every three years, with ours due to launch in January.
