Digital Marketing Specialist (SEO & Content)

Nt designing

We're looking for a curious, creative and analytically minded Digital Marketing Specialist with a focus on SEO and content to join our team at Abstrakt.

You’re someone who has the overlap between creativity and data, with the ability to research, analyse and craft digital strategies that actually drive organic results. Ideally, you'll have equal measures of analytical instinct and content flair to come up with solutions that are insight-led, user centric and compelling.

Location: Nottingham (hybrid)
Type: Permanent
Salary: £33-38K (DOE)

The role

We're looking for a curious, creative and analytically minded Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team at Abstrakt. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who can research, analyse, create insights, optimise and implement with equal confidence.

You'll support clients across a range of industries, helping them get found, drive organic leads, and turn their websites into hardworking digital assets. You'll work across on-page SEO, technical SEO, content strategy, and copywriting, contributing to client retainers, projects, and Abstrakt’s website.

This role suits someone who's ready to grow with 2-3 years of agency or in-house SEO  and digital marketing under your belt, or you may be a strong writer or marketer who has taught yourself SEO and is hungry to take it further. Either way, you'll be supported, challenged, and given the space to do your best work.

About you

You're someone who genuinely enjoys the blend of creativity and data that good SEO, content and user experience demands. You're comfortable digging into analytics, you never stop asking 'why is this not driving leads' or 'what does this audience actually want?', and providing strong insights and recommendations.

You don't need someone to hold your hand, but you're not afraid to ask for direction. You're organised enough to juggle several clients at once, adaptable enough to switch between industries, and enthusiastic enough to push work beyond the brief.

Responsibilities

As a Digital Marketing Specialist, with a strong focus on SEO and content, we expect you to own your clients' performance in search and digital marketing from audit to execution, delivering across every dimension of modern SEO. You'll be the person who never stops asking why - why isn't this driving leads, what does this audience actually want, and where's the opportunity nobody else has spotted yet. Here's what we're looking for...

  • 2-3 years' experience with meaningful exposure to SEO and digital marketing
  • A solid understanding of SEO fundamentals - technical, on-page, and content strategy
  • Proven ability to build and own channel strategies end-to-end, focused on outcomes that matter: leads, not just traffic or rank
  • Comfortable conducting keyword research, intent mapping, and content planning
  • Familiar with creating intent-led URL structures and 301 migrations
  • Familiar with writing H1s, meta titles and meta descriptions
  • Able to conduct SEO audits for new and existing clients across technical and on-page SEO issues, content quality, and find missed opportunities
  • Understand how to re-optimise website content to recover lost ground and recommendations for new content to drive organic growth against emerging keywords and prompts
  • Curious about AI search and how to effectively use SEO practices to support AI engine citation / mentions to drive organic growth
  • A strong understanding of what data tells us about audiences, engagement, and how they’re interacting with a website
  • Comfortable with tools such as SE Ranking, Claude, Screaming Frog, Schema.org
  • Very familiar with GA4 and Google Search Console and reporting on performance confidently
  • Familiar with Google Tag Manager and able to set up, manage, and troubleshoot event tracking to ensure clean, reliable data underpins client reporting
  • Organised, reliable, proactive and communicative; you keep people in the loop and are proactively looking for opportunities
  • Confident working directly with clients and sharing insights / recommendations
  • Aligned with Abstrakt's values around impact, quality, and doing good work for good people

We don't expect you to tick every box. If this role excites you, we'd love to hear from you.

Desirable but none essential

  • Agency experience is a plus, but not essential
  • Interested in/knowledge of UX and how SEO and UX work together
  • Experience with link building and backlinks
  • Experience with Data Studio (Looker Studio) dashboards
  • Experience with creating SEO strategies for Shopify
  • Experience with paid search
  • A confident copy/content writer
